Dear Friends in Christ,
Greetings to you on this Flag Day! I hope that you all are doing fine.
Yesterday our Session had a productive meeting. Of significance, we voted to start having potluck suppers again. As the hosts of potluck are scheduled by the Presbyterian Women (and I am moderator of our local PW), I will get with those who were scheduled this time last year and see if someone could do it starting July 18th. Thank you to our Elders for their prudence and care.
Special Called Congregational Meeting June 20th: We have also ironed out the issues (or are nearly there) concerning the church treasury and now have a budget for the congregation's approval. In order to get this done before too long, we are calling a Congregational Meeting for THIS SUNDAY, June 20th, directly following worship in the sanctuary. All church members are called to participate in this meeting, since your vote counts. We are required to have at least 10% of the membership present. Thank you in advance for your help.
Call for Special Music!
I am planning a special July 4th worship service with much more singing than usual. July 4th is a Sunday. If you have a favorite hymn request or would like to offer some special music in the spirit of the day, please forward your ideas so we can get cracking. Above is a YouTube video of a song that we sang at the Christmas Cantata a couple of years ago, which I have always loved: "This is Why We Sing"
