Greetings in Christ!
I hope that you had a blessed fourth Sunday in Easter.

This past Sunday, we had 11 people in worship, I believe.  I hope that we can bump that number up more as more of us get vaccinated.  (I get my 2nd one in about a week!)

Yesterday we had 6 people come to the crafters group.  I called it "Casual Crafters" in the bulletin, but that's just a working title.  It was great to see folks come with their "projects," including a jigsaw puzzle!  There are no rules as to the kind of creative project you can bring.

BTW - if you are looking for a jigsaw puzzle, we have had a Santa Claus one in Fellowship Hall just waiting for you to help put a few pieces together.

This Week:
Tuesday at Noon in Fellowship Hall:  Yoga! Bring your mat and we will settle down for about 30 minutes on your lunch break.
M, W and Fridays at 10:00AM, starting in the kitchen, Exercise, Eat and Pray.
This Wednesday at Noon in Fellowship Hall - the Dutch Treat Dames return.  Bring your own lunch, or coordinating sharing one with a friend.

Upcoming Dates:
This Sunday is Communion Sunday!  Please prepare to celebrate with me.
Sunday, May 9th after church is our next Session Meeting.
Sunday, May 24th after church is the next Deacons' Meeting

Communion Service to you in your home:  Have you been missing communion in church lately, or have not been feeling well enough to come?  Let us bring the church to you. I can, along with an elder or deacon, bring communion to your home during the week of Communion Sunday.  You do NOT have to be a church member.  Just call me at 575-708-0860 and I will schedule a time to come see you.

Prayers Please:
Dorothy Randals - for her continued comfort and care
Fay Birch - stage 4 cancer.  Prayers for help and comfort for her and her husband, Larry
Susie Martinez - awaiting word on whether she will need eye surgery, and on trouble with her foot
Elmer Schuster - multiple upcoming dental procedures - pray for his comfort and safe travels back and forth
Lucy Jasper (Susie Martinez's) cousin - Alzheimer's/Dementia
Luann & Bruce Haas and Randy Schuster - 2 week trip to Honduras - for their safety
Francis - Ryan's grandpa - cleared to travel
Glenda Coles' sisters, Betty, who is paralyzed and Dolores, who has Alzheimers
Sharon and Wayne Huffman - overall health
For those discerning a call to new ministries - maybe some of you!
Juan and Rosa - difficult health problems

Please lift all of these folks high in your prayers!  And please let me know if there is anyone I should add to our prayers.  May God guide you and bless you this week.

Hugs and blessings,
Rev. Amy

Greetings to you all in the name of Jesus Christ,
Hope that your week is off to a good start.

I have been doing some "Sabbath Yard Work" today and just came inside.  What beautiful weather we have today, even though a tiny big of a chill is in the breeze.

Yesterday we had exactly 1 person more than we had bulletins!  I made 14, but we needed 15.  I will take that as a positive sign of church attendance.  Please come and worship with us, as more and more of us have been getting our vaccinations!

Prayer Requests:

Dorothy Randals
Teresa Gallegos-Brake
Families going through complicated problems
Families in grief, including most recently Stuart Fowler and family at the loss of his mother
Our nation
Healthcare workers and families
Educators and their families
Thanksgiving for Kenna's newborn kittens!
Rain, please...
Lynn Hawkins, seeking a new home to rent
Wayne and Sharon Huffman - overall health
Ruth Johnson - general health concerns

Attention, Presbyterian Women - could we have a lunchtime meeting on Saturday, May 1st at noon?  We could just bring a sack lunch, or if anyone wants to order food together, I will put out a request for information.  Please reply whether you can attend or not on that day. Thank you!

This week, don't forget that Exercise, Eat and Pray meets MWF at 10AM in the kitchen.  Yoga will be meeting tomorrow at noon in Fellowship Hall.  All of you are invited.

Attention all Crafters/Artists!  This Sunday from 2:00-4:00PM, please consider stopping by the Fellowship Hall. I will be there with a crafty project or two.  Anyone else in our church who would like to visit with a cup of coffee, watch, or bring your own activity to work on is welcome to stop by.  I am anxious to get started on a drawing or painting project.  If we want to do it again, we might just consider trying a monthly 4th Sunday Arts and Crafts event.  It could be the "Tanglers 2.0" (remember them?).

Please remember that our Elders have approved holding certain church activities again.  However, for the time being, until we see the way forward a little more clearly, these activities are to remain just among those who are part of the church.  This may sound exclusive or not mission-oriented.  However, we are just being cautious as we want to mitigate COVID, but also encourage fellowship among members.  On behalf of the Session, thank you so much for your patience and understanding.

It is hard to believe that we are already more than halfway through the month of April!  And this Sunday will be Good Shepherd Sunday, the traditional name for the 4th Sunday in Easter.  Did you notice that every Sunday we have had the white parament up in the Sanctuary? That is the "drapey" fabric hanging from the pulpit.  This is a season of white, white to represent the glory of Jesus the Risen Lord.  It is also the color for Ordination, Holy Communion, Christmas Day and the Transfiguration of Christ.  Just a few tidbits about church liturgy.  Some denominations do not follow a liturgical season as we do, but I do like it because it provides us with a richness of ancient Christian tradition, as well as a chance to understand Scripture's stories and theology.  I'll try to remind you of the meaning of the colors as we travel through this year.

May your day and this whole week be one of repentance and forgiveness, blessings.  May you find a way to tap into the very heart of God.
Love,
Rev. Amy

Dear Friends in Christ,
I hope that you are doing fine this gray and cool spring morning.  I have plans to spend a little of this day of rest (yes, Mondays I take a Sabbath) working in the garden and catching up on housework.

I will also be at the church at noon.  The Deacons have a planning/training meeting at noon today for the lunch hour.  If you're a deacon, please make sure you attend!

Today, Wednesday and Friday is Exercise, Eat and Pray at 10:00AM
Tomorrow, Tuesday, I am planning to host yoga again.  Noon in Fellowship Hall.

Reopening to Church Activities:  Our Elders discussed options for reopening the church to more activities again.  Right now we moved and seconded small group gatherings, such as the Green Chile Gals, exercise groups, possibly craft groups, movie and game nights.  We won't be having any big dinners together yet.  Right now, we won't be advertising these gatherings heavily, nor inviting the community to them.  The idea is to be cautious, just in case the county moves "backwards" from our Turquoise status.  If you have any suggestions or questions, please direct them to me, Friends!  575-708-0860

Presbyterian Women - let's take a look at some upcoming Saturdays when we can get together.  We need to talk about how we might be able to have a Rummage Sale this year.  And, we just miss seeing each other, so let's have lunch.

Prayers:
Betty (paralyzed) and Dolores (Alzheimer) - Glenda Coles' sisters
Dorothy Randals - at Autumn Blessings
Elmer Schuster - knee and neck pain
Francis (Ryan's Grandpa) - for health and strength that he may travel to see family in NM
Family of Terri Clerk and her husband, Dell, who is hospitalized
Chris Quintana, Sr, after a knee replacement
Rain!
Betty Flint - fell and broke a hip
Family of Vicki Watson and for Oran

I hope that you are all doing fine this week.  I thank all of you for your prayers and calls.
Much love and many hugs,
Rev. Amy

Dear Friends in Christ,
Hope that you're all doing great, this first week of the Easter Season.  He is Risen!

Although I am getting off to a slightly shaky start, there is a lot for us to do, this side of the Resurrection Day!
I will not be hosting yoga yet, possibly starting next Tuesday.
Tomorrow and Friday - Exercise, Eat and Pray is meeting at 10AM

Tomorrow at 5:30PM, Elders are called to a Session meeting.  Let's meet in the Library, if possible, because the acoustics are better. We have a lot of organizational items to discuss and will probably not be able to get to everything we want to talk about.  Let's just prioritize and plan for how to follow up on those things.  God's the boss after all.  God will help us figure it all out. I'm working up that Agenda today.

Another big thank you to all who have been checking in on me, including those who made sure that I was quite well-fed on Easter!  Thank you for the many sympathy cards and your kindnesses.

Prayers:
David Short's family
Vicki Watson's family
Ryan's grandpa, Francis - for health and strength, and the chance to travel from Hawaii to Nex Mexico!
Teresa Gallegos Brake - continuing to heal after heart surgery
Dorothy Randals - at Autumn Blessings
Dr. Corey's clinic, and for her employees' health
Thanksgiving for health providers and prayers of safety for them and their families
Students, teachers and their families
Those who have suffered losses in this community - there are quite a few.
Lynn Hawkins, preparing to move to Tucumcari
For those who are alone or lonely, suffering from depression, anxiety or addictions

Attention Crafty People:  Friends, I have been kicking an idea around that maybe a cool thing to bring our members together would perhaps be a monthly craft activity.  If you're a knitter, a painter, or any kind of creative person who would like to get together with others, and see what each other is working on.  It could be a Sunday afternoon, like a reincarnation of the Tanglers group.  If this interests you, please let me know.  I can run it by the Session for approval.  (could be an opportunity for outreach too)

It was a great Easter Sunday!  It was wonderful to see so many of you appear!  Did we also not enjoy the music?  Thank you so much to Marge, Kenna and Emily for their musical ministry, making Easter extra special. Thanks also to Robin for bringing a basket of tasty treats to share with us all.

Friends, you are the church, the Risen Body of Christ.  Let's now go and Be the Church in God's World this week.
Much love,
Rev. Amy Pospichal
