He is Risen! Did I say that enough times yet? (If you were in church on Sunday, you're probably saying, "yes, Amy...")
Hopefully your Easter was a blessed one. We had around 45 people attend worship on Sunday and I estimate about 1/4 of them were visiting us. What a joyful day!
After Potluck, several of us were able to transform the Fellowship Hall into the Rummage Sale. However, that transformation is not yet complete. We could use all hands to help unpack boxes and bags and start to sort and arrange things on the tables. I will get signs up for the different areas where things need to go. I will be there Wednesday and Friday until about 1:00PM if you want to stop by for instructions. Or call 575-708-0860.
This Sunday, we have a guest preacher - the Rev. Dr. Ted Land, who is our "Transitional Shepherd," (AKA, Executive Presbyter) for the Presbytery of Sierra Blanca. This will be his second visit to our church, but his first time in our pulpit. Please come and welcome him - then maybe he can help us with Rummage! (just joking)
This Saturday, April 22nd at 10:00AM is the 2nd Blessing of the Animals Service. My hope is it will be a brief service and meet and bless your amazing creatures. It is Earth Day too, so it is a day on which we may observe our dependence on God's world. Please invite your friends, including the ones with four legs. Make sure they are well-secured on a leash or in a crate for their protection.
Don't forget that there will be no yoga between now and the end of the Rummage Sale! We expect it will resume on Tuesday, May 9th.
This week for yours truly is a "pick up" week, after I "pick up the pieces" of unfinished business which get set aside during Holy Week. If you need to reach me and I'm not in the office, just give me a call and we can set up a visit in person or by phone.
This past Sunday the message was simple: "Look Up" because the Resurrection story is one of hope. Try to raise up your eyes this week, through a lens of hope, for in Christ we have our hope. Attached is the sermon if you'd like to re-read it.
May God Bless you and keep you this week.
Love,
Rev. Amy
