Greetings to all in the name of Jesus Christ!
I hope your week is off to an excellent start.
Sunday was a full and rich day. After worship, a handful of our Elders gathered for a special training on theology and practical matters regarding communion. Thus, Marjorie G. McKenzie, Sharon Huffman and Barbara Cherry are now commissioned for a three-year period to celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion in our church, should there be need for them to stand in place of the pastor. When you see them, thank them for their service.
I also met with Morgan and Dylan's families so we could go over the plans for their adventure at Presbyterian Youth Triennium. Morgan and Dylan are the first youth this church has ever sent to Triennium, and if they return excited and glowing, we might want to start planning for them to go again next time. The journey starts July 18th and will be approximately 1 week. There will be a commissioning service for them during worship on July 17th (Potluck Sunday), before they depart.
Listen up Men of the Church!
There will be a meeting at the church (Fellowship Hall) this Saturday, June 11th at 9:00 for the second planning meeting for the Presbyterian Brotherhood. We need all the men present for their input. We look forward to seeing you. If you cannot come, or have questions, you may contact Rev. Tom Miller 708-9016 or Amy at 708-0860.
Sunday, June 12th
After worship (12:15PMish)...Brown Bag-it for lunch and find out a little bit about the Presbyterian General Assembly. "GA" is the national governing body of our denomination and provides an excellent peek into how all structures of the Presbyterian church operate. Here's your chance to ask questions, or just hear what your pastor will be doing in Oregon June 17-26. Bring a sack lunch. Water and Iced Tea provided.

This Sunday's sermon had to do with our deep need for God's forgiveness. The grace God gives to you, however, is not without a purpose. Let yourself be changed by this enormous gift, and see what God has planned for you (see attached sermon).
Let God's light shine through you today!
Much love,
Pastor Amy
