My apologies for being a couple of hours late in getting an email out. There was some question as to what this day would bring when I woke up this morning. It has been a somewhat unusual week, mostly due to calling people to come and fix things.
If you have driven past the manse ("parsonage") recently, you will notice a missing pane of glass from the front storm door. This was broken on Good Friday afternoon - not because your pastor said or did something to annoy someone (I hope). It was something like a dust devil that whipped up and cast small rocks at the front of the house. Fortunately, the storm door was the only thing damaged, and Mr. Franklin Jackson came yesterday to look at it and provide us an estimate to replace the glass.
And, thanks to Rix Security, the yoga class will definitely convene today at noon! I, lacking any breakfast last Tuesday (read: "Amy's brain is not working"), foolishly locked the only key to the conference room IN the Conference Room!
So, this season of Easter is off to an exciting start, getting more time to visit with local business owners.
But Sunday was the real time to kick off the Easter season. Thanks to all who attended worship, and to all who added to the special music. Special music shall continue during the season of Easter. Easter Sunday we rang bells, "He is Risen!" We had special music sung by the 6 of the Sometime Singers. Kevin and Nancy played a lovely instrumental duet on the electric piano. Lou Sims brought out the guitar and sang "Where You There?" And the sermon was meant to be more of a dramatic reading as one of the women at the tomb. I am told we had 36 or 37 people there. Maundy Thursday was also a lovely service with Holy Communion and there were 21 people for that. Special thanks to Rev. Tom Miller for his assistance in planning and serving communion! And special thanks to Deacons Barbara and Robin for assembling the Easter Eggs to pass out to us!
Of note, it is about that time for the One Great Hour of Sharing! OGHOS is underway! If you didn't get one of these lovely cardboard fish banks (pictured above with my other fish), you can also text $10 to 20222 on a cell phone, or visit https://www.presbyterianmission.org/donate/make-a-gift/OG999999/. One Great Hour of Sharing gifts go to help:

OGHOS is tax-deductible, if you use the online service.
