Grace and Peace be with you, Friends!
It is a bright and beautiful sunny day out there, but boy did the weather take us for a ride Sunday! We had warm, cold, high winds, rain and more sun.
We enjoyed Game Night on Friday evening. I especially want to thank Kenna for putting it together and to all who brought games and snacks. It was fun and relaxing.
Rummage Sale: We are still accepting Rummage Sale donations for the May 1-2 Rummage Sale. Please call Marjorie or me, to arrange a means of dropping them by the church.
Dutch Treat Dames Meet: This Wednesday at noon, we decided to meet at El Herradero (signage still shows "El Pueblito Cafe") at 112 E Main Street, downtown Tucumcari. Some come around 11:45, and that's all right!
Prayer Requests:
Family of Bruce Nutt (his services were last week)
Family of Chrystell Terry (passed after a massive stroke, on hospice)
Family of Sharon Cardwell at her sudden passing on Friday
Family of Kari Allen (upon the loss of her father)
Traveling mercies to all (including our own Marjorie McKenzie)
Lucille Andrada - heading to Santa Fe for eye injections today
Gloria - Teresa and Raymond's sister - continued troubles with her veins
Glenda Coles - preparing to have foot re-broken to heal, knee problems
Sheila Martinez - continued medical problems with eyes, heart
The Mericle Family - many different health problems all at once
Friends, have you thought about the fact that this week Lent begins? Many of us still think that Lent is about giving up something that you like as a sacrifice. But in your heart, what do you believe Lent is about? It is the season that leads us up to Holy Week, the death of Jesus on the cross, and his rising on the third day. During this season, we prepare our hearts to receive that good news of the Resurrection. I invite you to think about what you need in order to receive the fullness of that good news. Maybe it involves giving up something to make room for Him. How will you prepare?
