Just a few notes to remind you of all that we've been doing lately...As I have been convalescing with a pretty yucky cold, I'll be quick.
This past Sunday our Elders and Deacons participated in a joint meeting. In addition to a little "quiz"/training, we talked about improvements to our church's communication and what we might do this year for outreach and the nurture of our church. Some good ideas came out of our conversation.
A couple of highlights:
It looks like we will be starting a Lenten Bible study on Fridays, and I will look into how we might participate in the Friday Lent suppers over at St. Anne's. We imagine those who want to attend those suppers would eat together then, have a Bible study. Sound good? I think so! Lent, by the way, starts in March!
Also, the Session will be reaching out to each of you to see how you would prefer to be contacted for the purpose of getting news and information, as well as prayer requests.
Several folks affirmed things we did last year and hope we will do again this year. (like an Animal Blessing service, to happen in April around Earth Day)
Our Deacons elected their moderator, Robin Cherry. The Session has selected Kenna McKenzie-Young, to be trained for the Clerk of Session.
Please hold all of your leaders in your prayers.
We also asked Marjorie G. McKenzie to finish the remaining year on the Board of Deacons, left by Barbara Cherry.

In other news,
Presbyterian Women will have a meeting this Saturday, Feb 25 at 10:00AM in Fellowship Hall. We need to elect officers, reveal our prayer partners from last year and plan 2017. This is not a luncheon event. However, I might brew us some coffee.
Our friend, Tom Dobson, of Westminster Presbyterian of Clovis, had some serious medical trouble recently. His daughter Patti informed me that he was found with renal cell carcinoma and his kidneys removed. He now must be on dialysis, but thanks be to God the cancer did not spread. Please hold him in your prayers as dialysis is not an easy thing to live with. Tom has been a very good friend of our church for a number of years.
Other prayers:
Family of Corinne Andrada, in their grief. This includes Jenna Morris, who called her "Grandma," Regina and Tom, and Lucille, who was her sister-in-law.
Mueller family, awaiting the birth of their new grandchild (who was due yesterday)
Our country.
Our schools.
If you have prayer concerns and prayers of thanksgiving, please send them to [email protected] or call 575-708-0860.
May you have a blessed week and don't get what I have!
Much love,
Pastor Amy
