Grace and Peace, My Friends!
Hope that this beautiful Tuesday morning is finding you well. I heard on the radio today that if you go out tonight, you might want to grab a light jacket! Fall has fallen, I think!
Rummage Sale Update: We can use your help to fold clothes, clean off items for sale and begin putting price tags on things. Please come by and help, as we're not as big as we used to be! Since it's more fun with a friend, call me at 708-0860 or Marjorie McKenzie at 403-7876 and find out when we're going to be working there. Thank you in advance. And, we're still accepting donations! Please plan to help us take the leftover sale items to Ministry of HOPE on Tuesday, October 9th at 9:00AM.
What happens to our Rummage Sale monies? Funds for our Rummage Sale are used for charitable works in our community: assistance to travelers, Menaul School scholarships, help at Christmastime to the clients of the Children, Youth and Families and Tucumcari Domestic Violence Program. The Presbyterian Women will also use the funds for other mission-related opportunities.
Speaking of Mission... This Sunday is the 5th Sunday Food Collection. Please help the church help the hungry in our neighborhoods. You can bring your donated foods (non-perishables, please) and we'll make sure they go to the right place. For more information on Missions of this church, visit Opportunities to Serve.
Travelers' Pantry: For specific ideas on contributions you might make to help the hungry travelers who land here, we accept: crackers, tuna salad kits, granola bars, fruit or pudding cups, Vienna Sausages, SPAM, juice boxes. Right now, we have plenty of plastic ware.
Dutch Treat Dames: All women of the church are invited to meet for lunch, Dutch Treat. This Wednesday, Sept 26th at noon, let's gather at the Cornerstone's First Edition for lunch.
Strange Office Hours! This afternoon I will be "sitting" the Gallery, Etc., as they needed someone to answer the phone and greet visitors. If you're looking for me, don't hesitate to call 575-708-0860, or drop by the Gallery at the corner of 2nd and Center Street.
Christmas Cantata: Practices started last week, so it's not too late to get in on the musical celebration. Singing together is such a bonding experience too. Tomorrow night at 7:00PM @ Center Street United Methodist Church. I'll see you there.
This week's schedule is a bit different from usual, due to the Rummage Sale. Exercise, Eat and Pray will meet tomorrow, but Yoga will not meet again till after the sale.
