Hope your week is off to a great start. It's already September, and it seems that the weather has already been cooling down a little bit. The grasshoppers have also calmed down just a little (thanks be to God!), at least they are in the manse vegetable garden!
And we are beginning to look at the fall season of church...
Thanks to all who have signed up to help with the Rummage Sale, just a few weeks away. The Rummage Sale is Friday and Saturday of October 2-3, from 9am-3pm. I'm looking for helpers to assist us in unpacking, folding clothes and arranging the "merchandise" on the tables. That work begins on Sunday, September 20th.
Linda Sims and I are also eyeing a Saturday in October for another Community Health Talk, this time a workshop on Advance Directives (AKA, "Living Will"), likely the 3rd or 4th Saturday of the month. An Advance Directive provides written instructions to your doctor should you be unable to speak up for yourself in the case of a medical emergency. It also helps you designate someone to be your medical spokesperson. It's a good idea! Click here for more information.
So October should be a rich and full month, and so shall September. Mark your calendar for Sunday, September 13th when we'll begin learning some church history, beginning at 9:30AM in the Library. See you there!
Today: Yoga is at noon, Quilters at 1:15PM
Tomorrow and Friday: Exercise, Eat and Pray 9:00AM
Friday/Saturday: Tucumcari Lady Rattlers have a HOME volleyball tournament against Mora - Good Luck!
Friday night at 7:00PM - Good luck to the Rattlers playing at HOME again against Texico. Good luck. Hope the field lights work this time!
Sunday: 10:30AM Catch up and Coffee fellowship - a little visiting before worship. Holy Communion Sunday/Labor Day Weekend. Deacon Barbara Cherry is in charge!
Prayers of the People
Teresa Gallegos-Brake requests your prayers for Rudy (son in law), Gilbert and Gloria (her brother and sister). All have serious medical problems.
Amy Hawse - ongoing medical problems of unknown cause
Tom Anderson - planning for cancer treatment
Bruce White
Reagan Kenyon - thanksgiving. Her scans are completely clear! Thanks be to God.
If you'd like to see a new video from the Presbyterian series for teens, this is good: "Not the Boss of Me" It's all a part of the PC(USA) foray into YouTube-based teaching about being Presbyterian.
May God bless you and keep you this week! Love and serve the Lord.
Pastor Amy
