I don't believe it, but we have entered a new month and a new season of COVID-19 restrictions. We have been informed that the governor has ordered us to be locked down until May 15th now, so our service for Sunday was online once again. If you missed receiving the link on Saturday evening, here it is again (and the sermon document is attached too).
Here is a hyperlink to the webage to view music, words and video sermon with communion: https://sway.office.com/6bFu31sBVeLfk8rG?ref=Link The online version includes special music from Emily Priddy. Thank you, Emily!
I am looking for ideas from anyone who can think of a way to draw us together more in fellowship, even as we spend so much time distanced.
Zoom Prayer Service this Wednesday at 6:00PM: I will be hosting a brief Zoom Prayer Meeting this Wednesday at 6:00PM. If you have never done this, consider this a chance to learn how to use Zoom video conferencing. We will keep it simple, and it will be very nice to see your faces again! I will set it up and send it to all members and regular attendees of First Presbyterian Church, who have an email address. It will begin with a short orientation to Zoom, before we share joys and concerns and join our hearts in prayer. If you have a different email account from which you'd rather participate, please send that info to me. We can have up to 100 people participate.
Garden Gnomes! Thank you to Marge and Kenna, for planting lovely new flowers and veggies in the church flower pots! Please remember to drive by and check them out.
Mission to the Hungry: Please remember that if you hear of anyone who is going hungry, or having hard times right now, our church has a pantry of canned foods, pasta etc. We can donate some of this food to a local person or family in need. Technically, it's a pantry for hungry travelers, but we received some donations recently which are not "travel-friendly" foods. First Presbyterian PW also has a little money set aside for emergency assistance. Just call me 575-708-0860 and I will make arrangements.
Mental Health Awareness: Mental Health is of a significant concern for those who are out of jobs, experiencing a change in their work environments, or just being isolated in their homes. If you are having trouble coping right now in any way, please call me. I can just listen, pray with you over the phone, or offer my own ideas. It is necessary that we maintain our mental and spiritual health. There is nothing to be embarrassed about having difficult feelings lately.
Please remember those who are on our prayer list! If you have updates, please let me know :)
