It's beginning to look like Fall is on the way! Although it's been a little dry out and still somewhat hot, there are signs of the harvest all around. I spotted my first tarantula crossing the road this past Sunday as I went for a morning walk. I'm told that the tarantulas know the kind of winter we'll have.
Bright red chile ristras were for sale at the corner of First and 66, and what a beautiful and festive sight they are.
Fall is all too short in Tucumcari, but a wonder to behold God's bounteous earth. Even though life gets very busy right now, stop and enjoy this time before it passes!
Speaking of busy, those interested in singing in this year's Christmas Cantata are invited to the first practice of the year, tomorrow, Wednesday at 7:15PM at Center Street United Methodist. Practice is in their sanctuary. It's a fabulous way to minister with music and do so with Christians of different backgrounds.
This Sunday, September 20th is the third Sunday Potluck Supper. Don't forget to invite a friend to church and stay after for a meal. Come in comfortable clothes too, as after the supper, we'll roll the round tables out of the Hall and empty the Rummage Room to prepare for the sale!
Also this Sunday, we are starting a short 3 week program on the Ancient Church, at 9:30AM in the Church Library. Bring your favorite Bible from home. We're studying ancient Christian hymns this week.
