It has been such a "blustery" past few days! Maybe God is giving us a foretaste of Pentecost? We had a nice, though small, turnout for worship on Sunday - including a visitor named Joseph McManus, driving his rig from Roanoke, VA to Nogales, AZ and back. He stopped in Tucum for a respite from the wind before heading home. He actually walked all the way from the Flying J to visit us! (Plus, he's a VT Hokie, so we had plenty to talk about)
Have you seen the new owners of the Royal Inn property fixing it up? If you haven't met them yet, drop by and say hello. Their names are David and Amanda Brenner, just moved here from McKinney, TX (north of Dallas). They appreciate any offers of help, and have a huge to-do list, as you might imagine.
All that fixing up and cleaning has me a bit inspired. Having spent some hours folding clothes and more in preparation for this week's Rummage Sale, I am excited to see the chaos find order. We sure could use your help during the sale. We still need some linens folded and arranged, a pile of shoes paired up and organized, and boxes gathered up and stacked near the back door. If you can come and help us at the sale, please do! Doors open this Friday-Saturday at 9 and close at 3.
I could also use someone to go on the radio this Thursday morning at 8:00AM to invite the community to the sale. If you can go, please call me at 575-708-0860.
Please keep our neighbors in Tornado Alley in your prayers this week as they pick up the pieces of their lives.
This week our church will be overrun with the Rummage Sale! But when it's all over, I ask you to consider staying around after church to help us box up as much as possible. For what happens next will be the Presbytery Meeting, May 9-10.
I think after May 10, this church should declare a summer-long Jubilee to rest and just have fun!
May the Lord be with you this week!
Much Love,
Amy
