Greetings to you! I hope this Labor Day holiday finds you all well. We had an intimate-sized group for worship yesterday. I must say, when we are that small, there is no need for being self-conscious about our singing voices. I think I heard all of you yesterday and it is always a beautiful thing to hear your individual voices adding to the voices of angels. Our singing skills are our prayers to God, so there is no reason to be ashamed.
Announcements:
-Tom Anderson is still in room 534 at Northwest Texas Hospital. If you call, his room, please remember that he doesn’t hear very well and he might not hear the phone ringing. He does not have his cell phone with him. The main number there is 806-354-1000. Cards or flowers may be sent to 1501 South Coulter Street, Amarillo, TX 79106.
-The church remains locked down until at least after September 13th, when the Session will meet again. Until that time, please refrain from using the Fellowship Hall, including Rummage Sale donations. We will discuss reopening that side of the church on September 13th. Thank you so much for your help with this.

Friends, have you ever wondered what the purpose of Labor Day is? It celebrates the American worker and the birth of the Labor Movement. The first national Labor Day was in 1882. For more information, you can visit the US Department of Labor here: US Dept of Labor. Ironically, we celebrate it by not working! What will you do today?
I hope that you have a restful Labor Day. Please hold Tom and Jean in your prayers. As I find out more, I will keep you apprised.
May the Lord bless you and keep you today and always.
Much love,
Rev. Amy
