Greetings to you in the name of Christ:
We are in the thick of it this week.  One more week before the Rummage Sale!

It is a very busy time for everyone.  School is well underway now, and there are sports events, it seems, every weekend!  Football is on Sundays too!  Let's not forget this is a big week for our community and the next couple of weeks will be big for our church.

This Week in Tucumcari...
The Gallery, Etc. (at the corner of 2nd and Center Street) is having its annual Silent Auction and Children's Art Exhibit.  The Gallery is open 9-5 Thursday through Saturday this week.  The children's art is wonderful and the silent auction has many very nice things.
Wheels on Fire and Fired Up are this weekend! I am very happy that I get to attend some of these events, as I am usually at a Presbytery meeting.  Check out the street fair on Saturday and rub elbows with your neighbors.

Prayer Requests:
On Sunday we received several prayer requests.
Will and Debbie Sims - We learned from the Schusters that Will had a bad fall a few weeks ago, was injured and is unable to work on air conditioners anymore.  Please hold their family in your prayers.  They could use our support.  Debbie is also a magnificent crafter and sells her products here online.  Her handle is BareFootKrafts4u.
Travelers and the many visitors coming to town this weekend.
Gracie Whitson's continued healing
Wilbur, who is on hospice
Sonia, Betty's daughter, continued healing after the stroke
Linda Sims (Randals) - continued healing
Glenda Coles
Our Church and our Community

Please do not forget about the Rummage Sale, which is next weekend from 9AM to 3PM, October 4-5!  We are still taking donations and could use your help.

Presbytery Meeting Meals:  A sign-up sheet is circulating regarding the upcoming Presbytery Meeting.  We need any and all types of skills and people to help provide refreshments for the meeting attendees.  The meeting is October 11-12 and it is open for all of you to drop in to see how it is conducted.  If you can cook a crockpot meal, make a salad, buy some cookies, or bring some sandwich fixings, please let me know as soon as possible, while we plan.

Well, that's about all the news for now.  Who ever said there was nothing happening in Tucumcari?  Well, it's all happening now!  We are fortunate to have lots to enjoy and options to get involved.  Many thanks to you all for your participation.
Much love in Christ,
Rev. Amy
