Friends, what a lovely service we had on Sunday, between special visitors and special music, and your special presence. We had a beautiful turnout with around 40 people in worship. Special thanks to Robin Cherry and her crew hosting the potluck dinner too!
After quite a full weekend of hosting New Zealand Rotarians (and all the cooking and driving around), in addition to my usual duties, this Tuesday will definitely be a quiet day for me. But don't let that stop you from calling me on my cell phone if you need to.
Wednesday will be back to normal for me, as we prepare for the last Sunday worship in September. The weekend following that will be World Communion Sunday (October 1st). "Thirty days hath September..." Richard Randals is our October Communion Deacon.
It's not too late to congratulate Richard on his "Realtor of the Year Award," if you missed the chance to sign a card from the church!
Last Sunday, you generously gave $159.48 to the Hurricane Relief efforts of the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. This means we have raised a respectable $825.48. The Presbyterian Women are prepared to match this dollar for dollar, up to $2,000. Next Sunday will be the last Sunday before we mail our gifts to the PDA. PDA will use the funds for cleanup buckets and cleaning supplies for homes, as well as school supplies and hygiene kits. Their workers are volunteers. For more information on how you can help, visit: http://pda.pcusa.org/situations/national/
Tomorrow night, the Christmas Cantata practice begins at Center Street UMC at 7:00PM. If you want to sing, but don't yet have music, just show up and Harold will help locate music for you. It's going to be a really good one this year (which we say every year).
Help Wanted! "The Harvest is plentiful, the laborers are few..." (Mt 9:37) This is definitely true for the PW Rummage Sale. Please find some time in your busy life to help us unpack and set out items for this Fall's Rummage Sale. If you need orientation on how, you can call me 708-0860 and we'll meet, or call PW Moderator Julie Sursa at 461-3861.
Important Dates:
October 1: World Communion Sunday (Richard Randals is Deacon of the Month). If you have any international textiles, you are welcome to bring them into the Sanctuary for display.

Hard to believe fall is here. Don't forget that there are hotdogs and a Homecoming Rally at THS this Friday afternoon before the big game against Ft. Sumner. See you there.
May God bless you and keep you this week.
In Christ's Love,
Pastor Amy
