Dear Friends in Christ,
A blessed Monday morning to you all. It feels a little like fall out there. What a beautiful day to be alive.
Last week was an extra-busy one, as we had meetings back to back, and I was out delivering communion.
The Presbyterian Women met on Saturday and we had 6 in attendance. We discussed whether to have a Fall Rummage Sale and after some deep consideration, decided NOT to have it, just to be on the safe side. Instead, we will do an online sale through Facebook and eBay. The Facebook sale will feature things that you can come and pick up to purchase. Stay tuned on details.
Sunday Worship was lightly attended. Our Time out for Teaching was about music in worship and how it functions for us. We are a music-loving church. Members of the Session want me to call everyone in the church to discuss attendance, and get a feel for your reasons to be away.
Christmas Cantata: If you missed a phone call, or were just looking forward to it, there will not be a Christmas Cantata this year at Center Street United Methodist. We are grateful to our Methodist siblings for the chance to sing at their church, and pray for the day we can return to it. For this year, if you want to practice a bell piece or sing something, it's not too soon to start thinking about Christmas music... (hint, hint)
New Bible Study: Since there will not be a Cantata practice Wednesday nights, I would like to propose a Bible study starting in October on Wednesdays at 6:00PM, starting October 5th in the library. I am thinking of studying 1 Corinthians, unless you have any special requests.
