What a joy it is to say that! The downside to all that rain is the time it takes to mow the grass and weeds that crop up and spray our gardens for the tomato blight! That's what's happening here at the manse lately.
But the trade off is at least it's been cooler and we aren't withering under extreme heat. Thanks be to God!
This past Sunday we had a wonderful turnout for worship and Holy Communion. Many of you took a moment to trace your handprints on the long sheet of paper in the Narthex. This paper will be out all week long, through Sunday, so if you stop by, please make sure you make your mark!

=>A message from a Mark Burton of Albuquerque (after I sent a response to his first note):
Very nice. Your reply is important to me as you would be
surprised how few church organizations even bother.
I heard your radio ad while traveling west bound on I-40
back to Albuquerque. It caught my attention and was
effective because I was able to remember the source.
The concept of community involvement is very important
to me as I think 1) church organizations have become
too inward focused and stay inside their walls, 2) Jesus
and His followers were very involved in the community,
and 3) historically, church organizations were the FIRST
to address problems in the community (e.g., Presbyterian
hospitals across the nation).
I had a very positive experience as a youth in Kansas City
with the Presbyterian denomination. A canoe trip in the
summer of my senior year in high school with the youth
group was an event I shall remember the rest of my life.
My lifelong friend Eric and his family invited me. We
just attended his daughter's wedding in Dallas and it
was on our return trip that I heard your radio ad.
I am retired Air Force and we have lived in Abq since 1996.
I have been teaching high school science since 1999. I am
president of my neighborhood association and am planning
a candidate forum for my City Council district.
Praise the Name of the Lord, Ps 135
