The Lord be with you!
Greetings to all on this last week of August. I do hope that you're managing with this hot weather lately.
Thanks to all who were able to come to church yesterday. We had a great turnout! I also really enjoyed our "Bible Study" during the Time out for Teaching moment. We may have to do that more often. The story of Baby Moses and the extensive cast of "characters" lends itself to some great conversation. And... thanks to Kenna for bringing us garden fresh veggies! Church is so much more than people sitting in rows and hearing the Bible read. It is people living the life Jesus taught us to live.
Prayer requests:
Tom Anderson - tough week with chemo
Travelers
Susie Martinez - nerve damage in foot
California Wildfires
Hurricanes in Gulf
Need Rain here!
Family of Rachel Jackson
Nestita Velasquez - needs knee surgery
Susie's aunt - gallstones
Donna's successful surgery
Lucille doesn't need eye injections anymore - thanksgiving!
The world needs healing and help
For First Responders
Jim Tompkins - not doing very well
Karent Foster
Jeff Lewalling - in a nursing home in Farwell
What else is going on around our church? Not much, but my invitation is extended to all who would like a home visit from me, or we can meet up for lunch somewhere at an outside dining area. I look forward to that! (and I will be calling on a few of you this week.)
The song that I described yesterday in the sermon was called "Watershed," sung by a group called the "Indigo Girls." If you want to hear the whole song, here is a link to it on YouTube: https://youtu.be/mut_T0GcehI Have you had your own watershed moments? What changed the course of your life?
Friends, I will be signing off now. I hope that your week goes great! May the Lord be with you.
Many hugs
Rev. Amy
