Grace and Peace be with you all,
A few of you have mentioned to me, with some excitement, that it feels like Fall may be coming!

On my morning dog walks, they have been pointing their noses a different direction lately, as the wind has shifted and the seasons do seem to be changing (and not fast enough, if you ask me).  They have been pointing out a lot of interesting things along the way too.  When you get out and walk, you see so much more than when you drive.  I never knew that our sidewalks here are inscribed by the WPA and the year they were made (1939, 1940, 1941...)  When we walk on our sidewalks, we are walking on history!  Do you know how old your sidewalk is?

Some of you have seen me out walking with the dogs in the mornings.  Part of my process of mourning my husband has involved completing certain tasks that we had hoped to do together, including training our dogs.  I especially thank Emily Priddy for helping me train my wonderful canines, which has helped them become even better pets.  It truly takes time, consistency and patience, three things which I have needed to practice.  The whole endeavor has been therapeutic for me and one of the most meaningful things I have been able to do this summer.

Yesterday's service was lightly attended.  We had 10 people in church.  A couple of people were under the weather, others are trying to adjust to the new fall school schedule.  Some are choosing to play it safe right now, due to the rise in numbers of new COVID cases.

Right now, we are again expected by our governor to return to wearing masks indoors.  Please try and remember to do that as you are able.

Schedule this Week
Today - Pastor takes a Sabbath (after this email )
MWF 10AM - Exercise, Eat and Pray
Tuesday Noon - Yoga :)  Shall we do "Yoga for Abs" again?
Sunday - Church at 11:00AM

Office Hours:
Tuesday-Friday from 9:30-noon, unless called away for an emergency.  Afternoons I am doing visitation and/or working from home.
Saturdays - I can visit people, and will be finishing up prepping for Sunday worship.

Thank you all, for your continued patience, as I try to reorganize "life" after marriage.  I keep wondering how things might have been if there had not been a pandemic, layoffs from work, and everything.  We cannot change the past, only learn from it.  One thing I know from seminary training is that the "greater the attachment" we have to our loved ones, the more intensely we grieve and the more complicated it can be to "reorganize" afterwards.  One of the few platitudes I believe in is it is always "better to have loved and lost than not to have loved at all."

Dutch Treat Dames - We have not met for a very long time.  This Wednesday is the fourth Wednesday of the month.  Are there any women of the church who would like to meet up for lunch this Wednesday?  If so, please reply "yes" and we can choose a venue.
