Good morning! It appears we may have had a little rain around the area. Thanks be to God!
We had a productive Session meeting yesterday after worship. It was not an easy choice, but our Elders continue to stand by their vote last month to keep the building locked down for the remainder of that 60 day period. If you want to talk to me about this, I am more than happy to visit about it. You can call me at 575-708-0860.
I hope that you all were okay with my choice to stick a song in the middle of the sermon yesterday. It just seemed if I'm talking about the beauty of the hands and feet of Jesus, and want to talk about that song, I might as well play it for you :) It's more beautiful to hear sung than quoted. So, if you missed it, here is a link to the song and words on YouTube. How Beautiful - Twila Paris
So, I was prodding you yesterday about how you have found ways to embrace the "Corona time zone." One of the things I failed to tell you that I have been doing is setting up and better "home office" workspace to cut down on distractions. Some of us are working a lot, but if not going into the traditional office, our time gets a bit scrambled. And without the usual activities in town and at our church, marking our Sundays with worship seem more important than ever, to mark off the days and weeks. It is easy to lose track of time!
Prayers:
Travelers, including the Schusters' kids returning from Sturgis
Students and families, teachers and administrations, preparing for school
Our military
Tom Anderson - chemo and harsh side effects
David Beardon - doing great following kidney transplant - praise God!
Kurt Goldston - is in complete remission - praise God! - BTW - his physician says he believes in miracles
Russell - trouble with leg infection
Ryan - traveling in WA state
Our members who are isolated because of lockdowns and closures
Family of Gene Greene
Jenna - knee almost healed - praise God!
Rain Needed
Glenda Coles - still having PT on neck and arm pain
Sharon Huffman - arthritis
Ruth Johnson - multiple health concerns
Susie Martinez - recently went to ER. Home now.
Elmer Schuster - pain
The above prayer list is good for us to know for whom to pray. But it is also a good guide for us all, to provide us names of people whom we could write or call. I encourage us all to increase our connections to one another, by fellowshipping with each other in other ways. We're a small town, after all. Home visits come more naturally to us than the big city folk.
Directory Update: Please note that Susie Martinez's address has changed slightly. She has moved to Apartment 9, but the address is the same otherwise.
Church Cookbooks: This is your last opportunity to submit a recipe to the cookbook, before Kenna Runs them off. Please hand them to me or drop by Kenna's office this week, or email to me so we can get them done. We'd love a photo of you to go with your recipes.
Well, I'll sign off now. I hope that your week is one that reveals God's beauty and grace. The Lord bless you and keep you today and always,
Love,
Rev. Amy
