Yesterday, the Teaching moment was about "Spirit-inspired Worship." The Spirit inspires each of us individually to feel and act in different ways. And the Spirit also unites us in worship, despite our different tastes, needs and interests. What do you believe could help our worship be Spirit-Filled? How is our worship already Spirit-Filled? Nuances from music, art, movement, spiritual ideas, challenging thoughts, emotionally-connected prayer and more could be some ways that we seek to make our worship "Spirit-Filled." Since our worship is the linchpin for our week, and the gathering and sending of God's people to the world, it is also a missional experience, as well as to fulfill our own needs to be in God's presence. The attachment (7 Marks of a Vital Congregation Part 5) below also reminds us that worship is a place where we are invited into the "wonder" of God. I love that.
July's Communion Sunday is on July 4th! I am thinking that we should have more music on the day we give thanks for our Independence. Do you have any favorite hymns? Invite your family and friends to church on that day.
This week:
MWF Exercise, Eat and Pray at 10AM
Tonight around 5:45 - Green Chile Gals have supper together. I'm bringing some soup! (recipe is below)
Tuesday - Yoga at High Noon
Sunday - after church, Elders are called to a Session
How is your garden growing? Here is a little shot of what I did with the extra cinder blocks that have been hanging around for about 10 years here. If anyone needs a clipping of fresh cilantro, rosemary, oregano or sage, please let me know. The same goes for kale, right now. Take my kale, please!
May God's presence be as bountiful to you as the kale is right now.
Hugs,
Rev. Amy
