I believe we had the best turnout in church in quite a while yesterday! 20, I think, attended for Holy Communion Sunday. I am bringing communion around to a couple of folks this week who couldn't come to church. If you missed it, I am happy to make a special delivery to you. My number is 575-708-0860.
Yesterday's message was about "breaking the cycle" of sin/brokenness when we choose reconciliation with others. It is the most perfect gift we can give, as it is one way to participate in God's work to heal this hurting world.
Operation Christmas Child: The shoeboxes are due back at our church this Sunday, November 14th. We have several empty boxes waiting for your special treats. If you want someone to do the shopping for you, please call my number above. It should be about $30-$35 to fill up a box and shipping cost. If you are really running behind, you can drop your box at Center Street Methodist no later than Tuesday end of day. If you can do the box but the $9 is too much, we can cover that some other way. There will be a "Blessing of the Boxes" next Sunday!

Friends in Christ, I will be attending Continuing Education starting at 5:30PM Thursday through much of the day of Saturday. Friday's classes don't start until after lunchtime. I am required to take 2 weeks of Continuing Education leave each year and am trying to squeeze as much in as possible before December 31st. The Presbytery is paying for this one. It is to learn how to be a good moderator of meetings, something I sorely need lately.
If you have not heard, Sue Reid's service will be Wednesday at 10AM at the Tucumcari Cemetery. Her obituary is here.
I was talking to Teresa Gallegos yesterday and we were laughing about how confusing it is for us when we change our clocks. Out of curiosity, I googled "haiku" and "daylight savings time" and sure enough there have been haiku contests on this subject! Here are the results from one such contest. Click Here to read these funny haikus.
This is going to be another interesting week, Brothers and Sisters. I look forward to visiting several of you with communion this week. God be with you till we meet again.
Hugs,
Rev. Amy
