This past week has been a bit of a whirlwind. A lot of folks are in pain and need to know that God is there to comfort them. I visited quite a lot with Teresa Gallegos this past week as she prepared her spirit and mind for another surgery. She said "I'm placing it all in God's hands." We all have times like that when we have no other choice but to put it in God's hands.
New Bible Study Wednesday: Friends, as you may have seen in yesterday's bulletin, I am going to attempt another Bible study gathering. I have one other person who is ready to go! David Huffman and I are interested in beginning this Wednesday at 6:00PM. The possibilities are endless. So, in order to just whet your appetite for deeper exploration, I thought we could "prime" our curiosity with a look at a book we hardly ever think about: Philemon. The only "personal" letter we have from Paul, we get the barebones glimpse into the logic of Paul and how his logic conveys the gospel. It's easier to see it in a book of just 25 verses, before leaping into a longer book like Romans. Come on out. Please check out our flyer on the previous blogpost.
Tuesday at 10AM: We will have a Service of Witness to the Resurrection for dear Dorothy Randals this week at 10AM. Please if you are able, wear a mask, as we anticipate a sizable gathering. If you missed her obituary, you can read about her here, as well as see that lovely smile of hers again.
This Week's Schedule:
Today: Pastor observes the Sabbath (it's not just a "day off" :)
Today, Wed and Friday: Exercise, Eat and Pray at 10AM in the Fellowship Hall
Tomorrow (Tuesday): I am calling off yoga.
Tomorrow: 10AM worship in the Sanctuary, in thanksgiving and remembrance of Dorothy Randals
Wednesday: 6:00PM in the Library - Beginning the study of Paul's letter to Philemon
Sunday: Church at 11:00. Potluck to follow.
I have a dr appointment this afternoon, so I may be hit or miss if an emergency comes up. However, I will do my best to respond as soon as it is over.
I hope you make it a great week!
Hugs and blessings
Rev. Amy
