Dear Friends in Christ,
My hope is that you are all staying healthy and well this Monday morning.
Yesterday was a lovely turnout of the church! Special thanks to Marjorie and Robin for working on that beautiful piece on handbells and piano. It was a medley of two very familiar pieces: "Morning Has Broken" + "Ode to Joy" = "Morning Joy."
Call for Musicians: Missing the Cantata this year? I am. How about if we begin to think about what music we could contribute to the Advent and Christmas Season? This is a call for singers, musicians and readers too! Let's get into the spirit a little early this year. The first Sunday in Advent is November 29th.
Free Training: Tuesday, Oct 27th, our denomination is offering a free, 2 hour training on how to use social media to communicate our church to the world. The course is by Zoom. To register, go to this page: https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJUuf--urDkpGdyJUYseFSdCeAS78FxHBCJt I am also signing up, but if you feel the call, let's learn this together!

Social Distancing and Personal Protection. Public worship shall continue as is. As we continue seeing a rise in COVID cases in our areas, please continue using common sense, the hand sanitizers available in the Narthex and face coverings. A lot of us must leave the state for doctor appointments, etc., so we need to be mindful of our ability to transmit COVID and/or flu. If you need a protective face covering, please notify the pastor and she can help you.
Daylight Savings Time ends soon! Mark your calendars on October 31st to “fall back” one hour. Maybe a good nap on Saturday is in order too.
The Next Session Meeting will be after church on Sunday, November 8th.
Operation Christmas Child boxes are due on Sunday, November 8th. As per the usual, if you get them to church on Sunday, Rev. Amy will get them turned in to Center Street UMC. There are 6 boxes left. One has your name on it!
Sample Ballots are available. If you would like to read up on your election choices we also have a couple of booklets left too. Check the Narthex chair for a copy of your own.
Tutoring Help Available: Some students have been struggling in school. If you know someone who needs one-on-one tutoring help, please call me, 575-708-0860. Russell Kingston is available to help students for a small hourly fee, on a sliding scale.
