The Tanglers of First Presbyterian Church, Tucumcari have begun a new ministry to the cancer patients of Plains Regional Cancer Center in Clovis. Spread the word to the fiber artists in your circle of friends and family.
Tomorrow, February 25 will be our first delivery of "chemo caps" for those who need a little extra warmth on their heads, or just something pretty to cover up. So far the crocheters are "ahead" of the knitters 10-0, having made the first batch of caps. Thanks to Jenna Morris and Regina Morris for the delivery and for teaming up with Marj and Kenna McKenzie for making the caps so far. Kenna McKenzie is our Mission Elder. Marj, Jenna and Regina are Deacons.
As you probably know, many who receive chemotherapy treatments eventually lose their hair. It can be a traumatic experience, to lose their hair, not to mention it gives them over exposure to the cold winter weather or hot summer sun.
You too can participate in this ministry. The needs at Clovis Cancer Center will not stop. For more information, you can e-mail us at [email protected], using the subject line "chemo caps." We welcome your help in bringing relief to others. For a free knitting pattern, click here.
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ "Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’.." (Matthew 25:34-40)
