We are off and running this week. I hope that if you had MLK Day off, you found some time for a little rest and contemplation.
Worship and Potluck Dinner were a great time to get back together. After a having enjoyed a few days of vacation, it was a pleasure to see so many of you in church. Special Thanks to all who pitched in and helped on Sunday!
There were many prayer requests lifted up on Sunday. Please remember these in your prayers:
- Tom Anderson
- Sheila Martinez (diabetes, vision problems)
- Connor (grandson of the Bonds) at sea with the Navy
- Misty Tompkins (stiff person syndrome)
- Kelly McFarland
- Levi Mericle – diagnosis of thyroid cancer
- Ida Macias – recovering from broken femur
- Konnor (grandson of the Huffmans) – head injury from hockey, also turning 16
- Ruth Johnson
- Glenda Coles – healing from another fall
Let’s take a look at what is happening this week:
-Today – Yoga at noon
-Wednesday @ 10 – Exercise, Eat and Pray
-Wednesday @ noon – Dutch Treat Dames meet at La Cita (First and Rt 66)
-Wednesday @ 4:00PM – special called Session to prepare for Annual Meeting
-Friday @ 10 – Exercise, Eat and Pray
-Sunday after worship - Annual Meeting of the congregation.
Ladies of the Church – Tomorrow is the first Dutch Treat Dames gathering of the year. After talking to a couple of you, it seems that several of us would like to check out the new, updated La Cita restaurant. We’ll talk when we get together about where we want to meet next time.
Call to Annual Meeting: Members of the church are invited to attend the Annual Meeting after worship THIS SUNDAY. Most importantly, we will review and receive the report of 2019 activities, the budget, pastor’s terms of call and vote for nominees to Elder and Deacon. The floor will also be open, if a member would like to nominate someone else from the congregation.
When I was in Roswell this weekend for the Presbytery meeting, there was a bulletin board in the hallway with a black and white photograph of trees without leaves. In large script, it said, "There is no place where God isn't." Friends in Christ, I look forward to seeing you this week. Wherever we meet and under whatever circumstances, please remember that God is there too, even in the bleak midwinter.
Look for God in your everyday moments.
May God bless you this week!
Love
Rev. Amy
