The Lord be with you, Friends!
I hope that 2018 finds you off to a fresh start. There is truly no other opportunity like the moment when we can begin anew. In Christ, each day is just such an opportunity.
Just a few notes on this week's happenings:
Today Yoga is cancelled - it is just too cold to sit on the floor barefoot, and several will be missing anyway
Tomorrow, until further notice, at 9:00AM we plan to meet for Exercise, Eat and Pray
Worship Sunday is a Communion Service, with Richard Randals as the Communion Deacon this month. (AnnaLee will be February's Communion Deacon).
Session Meets Next: Tuesday, January 9th, 6:00PM. Elders, please get your reports to Sharon ASAP :) Thank you!
BREAKING NEWS! It's cold! This means we need to check on our loved ones, especially our older ones, and make sure they have all they need. Also, don't let your pets outside at night! The high today is supposed to be 36, the low tonight, 15 degrees.
Epiphany - a Revelation of God: Did you know that the ancient Feast of Epiphany is coming? It is always 12 days after Christmas, the day we celebrate the coming of the Magi who visit the Christ Child. Let me refer you to a sweet little article from Presbyterians Today, which talks about the celebration of revelation of God's grace in the Baby Jesus. Click Here to read. What a wonderful moment to contemplate as we enter the new year.
Prayer Requests:
Yvette McFarland - healing from surgery
Eric Rivera - preparing for rotator cuff surgery Jan 26th
Our homeless and others without heat in their homes
Mickey Burch - cancer
Our need for rain/snow - MOISTURE
Our first responders
Our country, the world
How do you plan to spend this golden moment at the start of 2018? Let God guide your resolution-making. May the God of grace be with you today and always.
Blessings,
Rev. Amy
