I hope your week is off to a good start. Yesterday for me was a Sabbath, so you didn't hear a peep from me.
Reflecting back on what our congregation has been doing lately, I can't say enough great things about you.
We had wonderful feedback from our Presbyterian visitors. Most left on Saturday after the Presbytery meeting. I heard expressions of appreciation, and feelings of being impressed with our enormous heart for hospitality and worship.
Folks loved our worship service on Friday night. They thought the whole thing was beautiful, including our music. The pastor at the Ancho and Corona churches was interested whether we would share with him the lyrics to "The Presbyterian Church on the Corner" - I told him I would ask Mickey about it!
And the food, the coordinated hospitality committee and the leadership of Barbara Cherry keeping the fire under us lit was impressive to me and to our visitors.
While we were there, Rev. Kent Leydens of First Roswell brought us about 40 Blue Presbyterian hymnals which are a free gift as they needed to make room for the new hymnal, "Glory to God." So stay tuned as we use this summer for a little experimentation! We're grateful for the sharing.
And what fun it was to surprise Betty Ragan with a birthday cake and song on Saturday at lunch!
If you haven't dropped by the church recently, please drive by and get an eyeful of the Fellowship Hall's facelift. Stanley and Sally Fulkerson are giving it a nice new coat of paint. Goodbye pink! And Andy Garcia and his crew are preparing the lawn for an underground sprinkler system, which will really spruce up the yard. On a timer, it should make the water more efficient.
This week, please make note of a few important things:
