Grace and Peace be with you All!
Hope that you had a good Labor Day weekend. I heard we had a good service with Patti Dobson at the helm. Also special thanks to Ruling Elder Wayne Huffman who is our Worship Elder. Wayne has been indispensable, as he has embraced the call to coordinate our worship coverage when we need a pianist and/or preacher when I'm gone. Thank you, Wayne!
September Fellowship Dinner: Make sure that you plan for a great Potluck Sunday in two weeks (September 16th), when after church we're having a cookout! So, for potluck on that day, bring something that goes well with burgers and hot dogs! Stay tuned for more on that. PS - this will also be Dorothy Randals' birthday!
Prayer Requests...Since I was not in church Sunday, I need your prayer updates. Here are a couple I do know of:
Marie Sims, for a boost and comfort
Ruth Johnson, healing from cataract surgery
Tom Anderson, for new health concerns
Thanksgiving for the love and support this church embodies!
Rain - for those of you who haven't gotten any, while others of us have gotten a lot!
Safe travels (including Marge, who is on a vacation!)
Bluegrass Jam Session Saturday, Sept 8th: Hey, folks, please make note that Fellowship Hall will be occupied by a Bluegrass group who has asked to use our space for practice. They welcome visitors to come and listen. The jammin' starts around 5pm. They comprise of the "Massey" Sisters and their families. If it goes well, then we might just let it be a regular event.
Presbyterian Women Noon, Saturday, Sept 8th: Also this Saturday, Presbyterian Women are having our fall meeting, starting at noon. It's a meal, so bring a salad, meat or dessert to share. On the agenda, we will discuss the upcoming Rummage Sale (Oct 5-6).
Yoga today at noon! Don't forget I will be at the church today, setting up for yoga. Please let me know by 11 if you cannot come, in case we need to cancel.
Session meeting will be this Thursday, September 6th, at 5:30pm. An agenda is forthcoming.
I'm just getting my feet back on the ground after a long trip home. I have plans to call several of you this week! May God be with you till we meet again.
Much love,
Rev. Amy
