What a rich and exciting past week we have had. The Quay County Fair all but dominated our church calendar last week, as part of our continued outreach efforts to this community. As for yours truly, this week I am free again now to visit church members and do some fall planning for the church.
As a result of the fair outreach, we had a new person visit our church on Sunday. Her name is Amy Hawse. She is eager to belong to a worshiping community, so look for her next Sunday. Thank you to Elder Kenna McKenzie-Young for giving her a ride home.
Our fair booth was a big success this year too. Above is a photo of the booth. The judges awarded us a third place ribbon! Approximately 10 of our members contributed to planning, setting up, taking down, and manning the booth during the fair. That's more than 1/3 of the congregation's involvement. Nice work!

Prayers:
- Richard Hart - is losing the use of his legs, possibly related to the stroke he had last year. Please pray for him and his family as they explore how to prepare for this.
- Head Start - is struggling with enrollment. If they don't get enough children enrolled, they might not be able to have classes this fall. Head Start and Early Head Start is a government program particularly to help children of low-income families. For more information go to: http://www.epcaa.org/headstart.html Up to 10% of "non-low-income" students may enroll.
- Bruce White (son-in-law of Jack Dyer) and a cousin to Theresa Goldston. Bruce suffered two cardiac events yesterday and is presently in ICU, heavily sedated. He also has a punctured lung which happened during CPR. Just as I was making this prayer list, Theresa called me with this request. Please hold Bruce and his wife, Peggy in your prayers.
- Our students, parents, grandparents and teachers.
- Jason Lenig (son in law to Wayne and Sharon Huffman) Jason's family has lost a lot of loved ones this past year, including his uncle Terry, who died this past weekend.
- Reagan Kenyon and her continuing battle with cancer, as well as her mom and dad, who stand by her. Reagan is a young cancer warrior, much too young for what she's going through. Below is her first YouTube log:
- Good News: Emma Pachek is doing much better!
- Other prayer requests? Just let us know through this email address.
This Sunday don't forget that we will have coffee time at 10:30AM. There will be a fall calendar of events for you to take home.
May the Lord Bless you and keep you today, Friends!
Love,
Pastor Amy
