Hope your week is off to a positive start. I have been a little under the weather yesterday and today so I am a bit slow getting this weekly email out to all of you. Hopefully I'll feel fine before the fair starts! Consequently, I hate to do this but I think I'll hang back from holding yoga today :(
Since I've been running a bit ragged lately, I might "disappear" to Texas for a couple of days next week, starting Monday, to see some friends. I will be available by phone and email if anyone needs me.
Don't forget that this Sunday is the Third Sunday of the month, and that means...Potluck Sunday. Please invite a friend to church so they find out how friendly we are and we will break bread together.
I hope you enjoy reading the sermon from this past Sunday, which circles around the message in Ephesians 5:1 "Be imitators of God, putting away falsehood..." It is a beautiful thing to know that to tell the truth means we are living up to our potential as people made in the image of God.
Prayers Needed:
Family and friends of Thomas Garcia, who passed unexpectedly over the weekend.
For Teresa Gallegos-Brake and Raymond Martinez and their family at the loss of their Aunt Vera
For the Quay County Fair to be a big success this year
For the violence in Chicago and for the unrest around our country right now
The fires in California and all those who are fighting them
For First Responders everywhere
Elmer Schuster, as he recovers from surgery
A friend of the Schusters, facing multiple surgeries
I'm sorry that this is a very short post today. I hope that everyone else is feeling better than I feel right now!
May God bless each of you this week.
Much love,
Pastor Amy
