I do hope you're enjoying all this rain we've been getting. Up here at the manse, we got more than 1 inch yesterday. Thanks be to God!
This week we have some exciting things going on:
Today yoga is back and we meet at noon. This will probably be a 30 minute routine.
This Saturday 8:00AM: The Men's Breakfast meets this Saturday. This is free to men in our community. Right now, we expect around 12. Please RSVP to David Goldston (403-7910 or [email protected]) if you're planning to come.
This Sunday: Don't forget this Sunday is Communion Sunday. Marge is the Deacon in Charge (switched with Anna Lee).
Monday, August 7th: Let's get the Green Chile Gals back on track! We can meet at the church for supper, and maybe watch a movie. Green Chile Gals started as dinner for the working women of the church, but you don't have to be working to come for the fellowship. See you around 5:30/6:00PM and we'll break bread together.
All Hands on Deck! Please lend a hand to the design of this year's County Fair booth! Don't fret. The hands of all God's people are the theme of this year's booth. All you need to do is come to church this Sunday or next and we'll get an outline of your hands and your signature. This way, everyone has a "hand" in the booth this year.
Cookies also needed: We are also calling for folks to bake some cookies for the fair. If 4 people from the church each baked 2-3 dozen cookies, we can sell them during the fair. The cookie sale would mostly be an enticement to visit our booth, but would probably go either to our Hunger Fund or Building Fund. Cookies made in advance may be stored in the church freezer.
The last 2 Sundays we enjoyed the presence of Gretchen Gurtler (http://www.mesalands.edu/community/dinosaur-museum/museumdirector/), director of the Dinosaur Museum. The link above is her contact information during work hours. As the Spirit moves you, please drop her a thank you for stopping by. It's fun seeing who comes through the portals of God's sanctuary!
Attached is this Sunday's sermon. I hope you find it beneficial. May this day be a blessing to you.
Much love,
Rev. Amy
