Grace and Peace, Y'all!
Hope that your week is off to a blessed start.
This is a great week for me, as the manse bathroom has been finished. It looks great and it's equally great knowing that the termite damage in the walls has been repaired. Thank you, all of you, for your support to make it happen.
We have several prayer requests
Vicky (Glenda's friend) - that she may have hope and peace
Stacy (Glenda's friend) - for her healing
Travelers
LaVone - for comfort and fast healing
Gloria (Teresa Brake's sister) healing after surgery and infection
Susie Martinez - grief for sister Charlotte
For Elmer, awaiting ultrasound results - that all shall be well
The Morris Family
Ruth - continued health troubles
As I was preparing for this past Sunday's sermon, I ran across this article. It describes what a doctor found doing research at Duke University on patients and the effects of prayer. Here's a link: What Religion Can Do for Your Health. His research has been criticized from a scientific point of view, but I do like what he has to say about the benefits we gain from prayer, and having a community of believers to care and pray for you.
Quay County Fair August 14-17 Fair Barn Exhibit Hall Quay Co Ext Office
The County Fair is coming! There is a theme this year of "Learning Life" on the fair book. This year, I would like our church's booth to have a theme about "God Calling." We will have (thanks, Richard Randals) free cell phone accessories printed with our church's name. And, I think it should display clearly our church's missions as a show of our "calling" as a church. All who would like to help me with a display of a giant cell phone, please let me know asap! This is going to be fun :) All interested people are asked to visit with me after church this Sunday, bring a sack lunch and we'll brainstorm!
It's hard to believe that August is just around the corner. One of my favorite parts about the County Fair is we often get some big and beautiful thunderstorms! Let's pray for rain, as we certainly need some.
This Week:
Tomorrow and Friday at 10:00AM Exercise, Eat and Pray
No Yoga this week, as we haven't enough people for a class.
Sunday, August 4th Worship and Holy Communion (Anna Lee Schuster is the August Communion Deacon)
Sunday, August 4th - County Fair Planning Meeting after church - bring a brown bag lunch and we'll brainstorm
Friends, I hope that you have a blessed week ahead. And remember that prayer is good for your health.
Hugs
Rev. Amy
