The Lord be with you all,
Hope that everyone is starting off the week on a hopeful note!
Thanks everyone who helped our potluck fellowship dinner a success. I couldn't have hosted it without your help! We had a good little group for worship and supper.
Keep in mind, friends, that next week (week of July 23-29), I will be out of town for continuing education. We will have a guest preacher on Sunday the 29th, since my class ends that Sunday morning.
This week our church calendar looks a little bit calmer than last week!
Today: Yoga meets at noon, unless I hear that no one can come! If you're unable to get there, please let me know at 575-708-0860 so we know whether to set up.
Tonight our Elders will meet with me at 5:30PM. The Session scheduled for last week got rescheduled for tonight due to illnesses.
Tomorrow, Exercise, Eat and Pray meets at 9:00AM
Saturday: Acrylic Painting workshop at 10:00AM at the Gallery, etc. ($20 for members and $22 for non members, unless you have your own materials)
County Fair Time: We have a relatively quiet week ahead for our church, but that's because coming up next month is the Quay County Fair! I'm looking for help planning the booth display and I have a few ideas but I need helpers to better put together a vision of what we want to say to the world! Please let me know if you're free to meet with me the week of July 29th and we'll set up a meeting to talk it over. I could use your help in a variety of different ways. Thank you in advance :)
This past Sunday's sermon talked about "party poopers" who can often threaten our hope and faith. Sometimes our life circumstances are what do this. If you find that to be the case with you (and it happens to us all!) maybe you'll find the attached sermon helpful.
BTW - don't forget to look up at Tucumcari Mountain after dark tonight. If you missed the big news, the Rotarians and a few other hardy souls fixed the lights so that the "T" is back! Thanks to Ryan Pottenger, his uncle Bob Hockaday and cousin Bobby who were the ringleaders! It looks great.
Whatever happens to you this week, don't give up the dance of faith. As I said on Sunday, sometimes it really calls for some flexibility and some fancy footwork on our part. Keep heart!
PS - Due to my travel plans, I might or might not be able to make a blog post next week, as where I am going, the internet access will be very limited!
Love to you all.
Rev. Amy
