Grace and Peace be with you, Friends.
Hope this week finds you full of the knowledge of God's grace.
We missed several of you in church Sunday - we are at the height of vacation season! We continue to pray for safe travels wherever you go.
Hope that you received word in at least one way or another that our beloved sister in Christ, Jo Priddy passed away over the weekend. The service is scheduled for TOMORROW at 10:00AM at our sanctuary, followed by a brief graveside service. Please also return to the church for some refreshments and visitation with the family. Many of you knew and cherished Jo for her kindness and friendship, as well as her many gifts of creativity. For her obituary, please click this link: Jo Priddy
Refreshments Needed for Tomorrow: Members of the church, we could use a plate of cookies, finger sandwiches or other little tidbits for the reception tomorrow after the graveside service for Jo. If you're coming (or not!) please drop something by between 9 and 9:45 AM tomorrow.
Change in Schedule: Friends, due to the service for Jo, we discussed moving the Dutch Treat Dames hangout at the Cornerstone to next Wednesday. However, that just happens to be the July 4th holiday! If you can still do lunch on that day, please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you!
This week:
Yoga meets today at noon. See you there!
Tomorrow, Wednesday 10AM - Funeral Service for Jo Priddy
Exercise, Eat and Pray is cancelled for tomorrow.
Community Walk - "Walk with a Doc" Next week, Saturday, July 7th from 8-9:30 AM at Dunn Park will be another community walk. This time, we are taking a walk with several of our local health care providers - doctors, nurse practitioners and more. Please come out and spend some informal time with a medical professional. Perhaps you have a health-related question, or maybe just get to know them better. Next Month, we're working on a "Walk with a Cop" event. These are organized by the Quay County Health Council Fitness and Nutrition Committee.
I'm excited to be associated with these community walks for they remind me a little of the many walks Jesus and his disciples obviously took. Traveling together, whether walking, driving or riding a horse, can offer some bonding time between people. Perhaps a few of you are remembering this as you travel on vacations and explore new places with your families. Let your love for one another grow as you gain new experiences, and you'll aptly reflect God's love and fellowship.
Even if you happen to be staying in Tucumcari this summer, it's possible! Make this a day where you discover God's fellowship with you in some new way. I'll see many of you tomorrow morning. God be with you till we meet again.
Much Love,
Rev. Amy
