What a beautiful rain we had last night. It calls to mind the words of "Morning Has Broken" - "sweet the rain's new fall..."
Hope you had a very good Memorial Day Weekend. Family get-togethers, flying the Flag, mowing the lawn...whatever you had going on, I hope it was sweet. God was in the midst of all of that.
This week we're going along our normal schedule at the church. I will be in the office this morning, before the yoga crew arrives. We have yoga at noon.
This Wednesday and Friday the Exercise, Eat the Pray group will be in God's house at 9:00AM.
These exercise groups are a part of our church, so any and all of you are welcome to participate.
Men of the Church - you are called to breakfast! This Saturday at 8:00AM in the church kitchen. The food is provided, so all you need to bring is your appetite. This is the Presbyterian Men 2.0 reboot, so if you haven't attended any of their past gatherings, now is the time to start! I'll try to be there too, even though I don't have all the qualifications :)
Fellowship activities are not "optional" events. They are opportunities to witness God's presence among God's people.
Session Meeting: This Sunday following worship the Elders will have a meeting with representatives from the Presbytery (Rev. Dr. Ted Land and Ruling Elder Janell Kane) for our "Biennial Visit." A Biennial Visit is an opportunity for us to "talk back" to Presbytery about the needs of our church, share with them the ministry that we do. The purpose is for Presbytery to do their duty in seeing if we have any pastoral care needs that they could help us with.
Sunday is Pentecost! Wear some red so as we gather together we will look like we are on fire! We have Holy Communion and some special music from our resident clarinettist.
Learning about Pentecost: If you have a Facebook account, tune in tomorrow to https://www.facebook.com/pcusa/ for a Facebook Live program called "Why Does Pentecost Matter?" It begins 1PM Mountain Time. It will answer the "so what?" about Pentecost.
