The Rummage Sale will be May 6-7 from 9am-3pm Grace and peace be with you, Friends!
We are a Resurrection People! There is an interesting little prayer that we often say during a Presbyterian "funeral," also known as a "Witness to the Resurrection." The prayer goes like this:
"Speak to us once more your solemn message of life and of death. Help us to live as those who are prepared to die. And when our days here are ended, enable us to die as those who go forth to live, so that living or dying, our life may be in Jesus Christ our risen Lord. Amen" (p 924, Book of Common Worship)
The Spirit gives us courage and wisdom to live like this. What an incredibly freeing message we have in the Resurrected Christ!

Saturday, April 16th - Registration is now open for men, women and children to head for a day of learning, food and worship at First Presbyterian of Lovington, hosted by the Presbyterian Women. It's time for the PW Spring Gathering. If you want to go, let me know and I will register you. The theme is "The Potter and the Clay." You and I can carpool. I will be offering a "Yoga for Believers workshop." We will leave at 7:00AM.
Sunday, April 17th - after worship is our monthly Potluck (A.K.A., "Carried in Dinner"). We also bid your help after dinner to put away the tables and start moving things out of the Rummage Room, as has been our custom in April.
Saturday, April 23rd, 10:00AM - Blessing of the Animals service - in our church courtyard. All the community is invited to come, in observance of Earth Day, bring your pets and livestock and we will have a brief service of worship and bless each creature by name. Please make sure your animal is kept safe with a crate, on a leash, on a lead rope, or some other protection.
Saturday, April 23rd, Noon - PW Quarterly Business Luncheon Meeting. We will gather in the church kitchen and figure out where to sit down!
Friday and Saturday, May 6-7 from 9:00AM-3:00PM - PW Rummage Sale! We will need helpers to set up for the sale, people to work at the sale (straightening up and receiving payments), as well as individuals to pack up and move the unsold items to Ministry of HOPE. Sign up sheets will be made available during worship in about a week.
Don't forget today at noon the Yoga group meets in Fellowship Hall. We have just a couple of weeks left before the Rummage Sale takes over.
Tomorrow, Friday and Monday, please come at 9:00AM for Exercise, Eat and Pray. Everyone is welcome.
Sunday, at 9:30AM - please come to church for Bible Study. We are studying the Sunday Lectionary readings that will be preached about that morning in worship. Worship is at 11:00AM!
