Sorry for the delayed message today! I usually try to get this message out before 9:00AM. (Sorry, Keith!) I had a morning radio spot at 7:30 and then an 8:00AM appointment to see a man about termites this morning.
Big day!
Just as a reminder, we will not be having yoga this week, nor probably for a few weeks, until after the Rummage Sale and after I return from a trip to Virginia.
Several prayers have come to me lately:
Kari and a friend for an important "leap of faith"
Marie Sims - for continued care, pain control, for visitors
Mickey Birch (cancer treatment), Karen Birch (loss of brother)
Families and friends in our community, since there have been many deaths this spring
Amber and Donald Varsallona (joy) of their new baby, Ethan Jonathan 2 weeks old
May our Rummage Sale go well and successfully May 4-5
People dealing with chronic pain
Jasmine - extreme, unexplained weight loss problem
Family grieving for Neal Lambert (Theresa Goldston's cousin)
Family and friends of Tom Dobson
Prayer is the very heart of worship.[Book of Order W-2.0202] Every time we stop and pray we are actually committing a momentary act of worshiping the living God. If we truly lay out our needs before God, it can help us cultivate a place of peace, no matter where we are. Prayer takes many forms: from making music, taking a walk, dancing, crying out, and of course talking to a beloved pet.
This Sunday we will celebrate the continuing joy and wonder at the Resurrection. Here is a link to this Sunday's readings: Revised Common Lectionary PCUSA.org
This Friday I will be traveling to Las Cruces for the Spring Presbytery Meeting and will return Saturday evening. After church Sunday I am obligated to teach a class on Pastoral Care to our next class of lay preachers in training. That class is at Westminster Presbyterian, Clovis. When I'm done teaching that, I'll meet with Patti Dobson, as her family requests that I perform her dad's funeral. You can find a copy of his obit here: Thomas Dobson III
We could use your help with bringing donations to the Rummage Sale still! I personally will be in the church Wednesday morning till about noon, and maybe early Friday. If you want to schedule a time to come work, please call Julie Sursa at 461-3861. Thank you!
May your week surprise you with blessings.
Love,
Rev. Amy
