We can take a breath of relief. It looks like Spring may finally be here! Hopefully you enjoyed the beautiful weather this past weekend.
This week, at First Presbyterian Church:
Tuesday: High Noon Yoga in Fellowship Hall
Wednesday and Friday: Exercise, Eat and Pray at 9:00AM
This Wednesday at 11:00 - the Sometime Singers practice.
Saturday: - nothing, for a change! go and enjoy the springtime weather
Sunday: Worship at 11:00AM it's Palm/Passion Sunday.
Palm Sunday is called Palm/Passion Sunday if churches do not have a Good Friday service, so we make sure we don't skip over the cross to Easter. We cannot forget that the cross stands in between the revelry of Palm Sunday and the extraordinary message of the resurrection on Easter.
Sunday Visitors
Dena Mericle, daughter Hannah and granddaughter Maleah
Jenna Morris (not really a visitor!) home for Spring Break and a huge help to us in our Tea Party and Mission Program
Houston and John McKenzie - what a pleasure to see them in town!
Mission Report
We had a lovely day for a Tea Party on Saturday. Special thanks to Regina, Jenna, Marj, Kenna, and Julie for decorating Friday and to Dorothy Randals for helping us early on Saturday too. We hosted 35 people and made 56 bags/purses to go to the Domestic Violence Program. About a third of them came from the Presbyterian churches in Portales and Clovis, which was a treat for us! We also enjoyed the visit with people from around the community, including City Commissioner Rick Haymaker and his wife, Toni.
What fun! On Sunday, we dedicated the purses during worship. I took many more photos, some which I will use when submitting our grant renewal.
Prayers:
Reagan Kenyon and her parents, Molly and Clifford, as Reagan undergoes cancer treatment in Houston
Teresa Gallegos-Brake and her sister Betty request our prayers for their family's many health problems, including brothers Gilbert and Eloy
Shane Jennings' family
Jason Lenig and his family, following his grandmother's death
What are your prayer needs? Please share.
Hope you enjoyed the photos!
Have a blessed week. I'll see you Sunday, if not sooner.
Love,
Amy
