Greetings to you in the name of Christ. I hope your week is off to great start and that you all get at least some of that rain they predicted for us! It looks like we got a little bit last night at the manse but not much.
This week:
Today we will re-start yoga in Fellowship Hall.
Session meets tonight at 5:30PM in the Library.
Wednesday/Tomorrow evening starting at 6:00PM we begin a brown bag Bible Study (bring a sack supper in other words). The Lenten Bible Study this season will explore the many accounts of the "Post-Resurrection Appearance Stories" and tomorrow we'll begin with Mark 16.
Thursday afternoon I'll be heading to Albuquerque for the Synod of the Southwest meeting. I will be home on Saturday afternoon.
Synod News: I received news that the Associate Synod Executive, Robin Thomas, will be leaving in the near future to take up a similar position in Tennessee. I have come to know her and her husband Ray quite well. The Synod office is likely going to seek someone to fill that position. Please hold her co-worker, Conrad Rocha, in your prayers as he will be doing many more duties than before.
Prayers:
Glenda Coles - for two different surgical procedures this week.
Glenda's friend, Vicki, who is gaining freedom from domestic violence
Travelers
Rain!
Our country
Jenna Morris - intense knee pain
For those seeking work and for those unable to work
For those who are grieving
LaVone Bond - injury from a fall
Rosendo (employee of Dr. Corey) - continuing health problems
Here Come the Police: Don't forget that this Sunday is Potluck Supper Day after church. Of special interest, someone from the City of Tucumcari Police will be with us to visit and talk with us during supper. Please come, as it's a unique chance to connect with law enforcement and they are eager to answer your questions!
May this week go well for you. For some interesting reflections on this season of Lent, please take a look at this link from our denomination's website: https://www.presbyterianmission.org/ministries/worship/christianyear/worship-resources-lent/
Love and hugs,
Rev. Amy
