Good Morning, All.
"Great is Thy faithfulness, Great is Thy faithfulness.
Morning by morning, new mercies I see..."
I do hope that this morning you see new mercies, however God finds you today.
We just completed the Annual Meeting, Friends. Thank you for all who came, voted, discussed the information presented in the Annual Report.
We have two new officers in the church, who will be ordained and installed as soon as we can. Richard Randals will be coming onto the Session as a newly ordained Elder and Theresa Goldston will be coming onto the Board of Deacons. I will get with each of them asap to arrange a special service of ordination. Hooray for them and for us all that they have chosen to serve the Lord this way!
This week will be a blessedly calm (a little bit), as January is an extra-long month. Take note that next Sunday, February 3rd, is Communion Sunday. Anna Lee Schuster is our Communion Deacon for February!
On Sunday, the following prayers were lifted up:
Becky and and her son traveling home from a hockey tournament
For those covered with freezing temps to our north and east
For travelers everywhere
Westminster Presbyterian Clovis (without a pastor)
Gavin (nephew of Patti Dobson) hospitalized in Lubbock
[There are a few of you who have asked for my prayers personally. Each of you are in my heart!]
The Presbyterian Women (through Kenna McKenzie's leadership) is hosting a Vintage High Tea on Saturday, February 16th at 2:00PM. It will be SO MUCH fun and a way to welcome the community to our Fellowship Hall. Tickets are on sale for $20/person or $35/couple. Call me 575-708-0860 or Marjorie McKenzie 403-7876 to reserve your spots! For more info, you can click on the attached flyer.
Campus Ministry at ENMU: One more announcement I wish to share with you... Eastern New Mexico University has a "Presbyterian House" on campus, where traditional campus ministry has taken place. For about a year and a half, the Presbyterian campus house has lain inactive, as they have needed a new campus minister. Our sister church in Portales is rebooting their ministry on Sunday, February 10th at 6:30PM. If anyone would like to come with me, please let me know. I will be going out there to give them my support and be a "seed" for the formation of the new program. First Presbyterian Church in Portales is about the size as ours, yet without a pastor, and they could use a cheering section from us! The Presbyterian Campus Ministry is at the corner of West University and Avenue K.
Today, in spite of the chilly temps out there, I will be in the church by noon for yoga. Hope to see the yoga folks there! May you stay warm and well today. No matter what you do, love and serve the Lord today.
Blessings,
Pastor Amy
