The Lord be with you, Friends!
I do believe we were one of the few churches who did not cancel worship on Sunday.  And I was impressed that we actually had 26 people come!  Please never forget that if the weather looks bad in your area, you do not have to come to church.  It's better to be safe.

Thankfully, the weather warmed up a bit and with the help of Betty and Eric, the icy pavement started to clear away by the time we left the church.  Thanks, friends!

Wayne had checked the thermostats the day before and so the sanctuary was cozy when we arrived that Sunday morn.  This just goes to show us how the house of God operates.  We are a family with different roles in the household:  different gifts to give.

Mark your calendars, set alarms on your smart phones:
Friday, Dec 23rd at 5:30PM we meet at the church to go caroling.  Dress warmly.  Bring a thermos or flask to fill up with a hot drink and we'll walk around spreading music in the neighborhood. We'll end up at the church for some more warm beverages and treats.
Saturday, Dec 24th at 5:30PM will be a prelude to worship.  Worship begins at 6:00PM.  Bring your friends and family and we'll cozy up to God with candlelight and music.
Sunday, Dec 25th at 11:00AM will be worship again, mostly singing. Come as you are.  Fuzzy slippers and all.

Today the yoga group meets again at noon.  We will do the 55 minute routine, so get there on time!  We will not be meeting next week, so let's have a good one this week :)
Exercise, Eat and Pray continues to get together this week.  If you have questions you can call Sharon Huffman, or me at 575-708-0860.

Prayer Requests:
Julie Sursa's brother, a cancer survivor, has been found to have a bone lesion.  Please pray for the Sursa and Healey family.

Victims of the car pileups on the interstate on Saturday.
Bill Tausworthe's family after his passing on Friday

Our community and nation
Travelers

It seems that life goes on, even when we are busy baking cookies and celebrating this sacred time of God's birth into the world.  "The light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not overcome it." John 1:5

The sermon on Sunday was about love, and that even if love is hard, it is well worth our time.  God so loved the world, God decided to give up His power in order to be with us in the world.  God showed up for us. Love is being there for one another.  Attached is the sermon, called "Love Stinks."

Make it a beautiful day.  I plan on seeing you this week and weekend. Be filled with God's love today.
Blessings,
Rev. Amy
