God is merciful and good. For those who haven't heard, I have been at the manse an awful lot lately, as Jackson Glass has been here, in and out, replacing all the 1950's windows with brand new ones. Since I have pets, I have been working out of the house a lot.
We are heading into the holiday season and before you know it, it will actually be Thanksgiving! We have several things going on at the church in the coming weeks, so let's begin with those:
This Week:
Today - No Yoga. Sorry! I can't seem to get away to set us up.
Tomorrow - Exercise, Eat and Pray will meet at 9:00AM
Friday - Sharon and I will be working in the office in the morning
Saturday morning @10AM - there is a Disc Golf Clinic out at the new Disc Golf Course - for those who want to learn about the sport! Also that Saturday.
Saturday Morning, @11AM - bell choir practice!! Please try to come since we won't have a lot of time before the Cantata is here.
This Sunday, November 19th - After worship is Potluck Dinner (AKA, "Carried In"). CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOEBOXES DUE (I'm not yelling at you :)
Next Week and Beyond:
For the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, November 25th, it looks like we will have a funeral service for Marjorie C. McKenzie. In case you missed my email yesterday and the phone calls going round, she joined the Church Triumphant yesterday morning, thus completing her baptism. Her health decreased rapidly over the last 1-2 weeks and by Sunday she seemed ready to join Blevins. Please hold all the family in your thoughts and prayers, as they prepare for her funeral and all the other things that must be done. More details to follow. We shall miss her so.
December 2nd, Saturday, 8:00AM - Men's Breakfast, Fellowship Hall. Guys are invited to stick around and help us decorate :)
December 2nd, Saturday, 9:00AM - We will meet for the Hanging of the Greens. Come on out and help us deck the halls! The next day is the first Sunday in Advent, believe it or not!
December 9th, Saturday, 12:00 Noon - Presbyterian Women Christmas Party! We are having food ordered and brought in, so you don't have to cook (Christmas cookies are always welcome, however)
December 15th, Friday 7:00PM - Christmas Cantata at Center Street United Methodist.
December 16th, Saturday 6:00PM - our Church's White Elephant Christmas Party. Does anyone who got the 'Mailbox' last year? Please bring it wrapped and full of candy for the party!
Burglary/Break-in Update: Your pastor has been subpoenaed to Magistrate Court on Monday, 11/20 to provide information on items stolen/damage done during the October 7th break-in. Anyone who needs to talk to me about this, please get in touch with me. I appreciate any information you have yet to give to me.
In Related News...Wayne and Sharon saw a deal they couldn't pass up. The church office has a computer again! But now we have to get a compatible printer, as the one we have won't speak to the new computer.
