Friends in Christ,
We have some interesting and exciting opportunities for fellowship on the way!
This Saturday, Nov 14th at 10AM in Fellowship Hall we will have a presentation by Linda Sims-Randals called "Diabetes and Holiday Dining" - what a timely learning opportunity, as November is National Diabetes Awareness Month. Want a diabetes-friendly pumpkin pie recipe? Here's one: http://www.diabeticlivingonline.com/diabetic-recipes/dessert/perfect-diabetes-friendly-pie-recipes?page=7
On Sunday we have our monthly Potluck Supper, hosted by yours truly. Let's get in the Thanksgiving mood. On behalf of the Elders of the church, I have also invited the Agape Fellowship (Rick Haymaker's church) to worship with us and break bread together.
NEXT Saturday, November 21st, at 5:30PM, we will be showing the movie "Up," a Disney PIXAR movie that is aimed at ALL age groups. An adventure story about a little boy and an elderly man looking for "Paradise Falls."
Don't forget we are in the middle of studying the Book of Ruth on Sunday mornings at 9:30AM. It's not too late for you to join us. This week we will be examining chapter 3.
Special thanks to our Deacons and the Bereavement Support Team for providing a family meal for the Hart and Varsallona families. We had a small celebration of Richard Hart's life on Saturday.
Please note that I am going to be out of town from Wednesday afternoon through Friday afternoon this week to complete her continuing education requirements. I will be in El Rito, which is near Abiquiu, doing some independent study and preparations for Advent. I will be available by cell phone and text messaging.
Hopefully I will be back in time for the big game against Texico. Our Rattlers Football team qualified for the State Playoffs. We beat Texico earlier this year but the winner of this plays Estancia (they're tough).
Don't forget that today Yoga meets at noon in Fellowship Hall. Tomorrow and Friday Exercise, Eat and Pray meet at 9:00AM. See you Sunday, if I don't see you sooner.
May the Lord bless you and keep you today and always,
Love,
Pastor Amy
