Do you know what "Shalom" means? It means so many things. When you say "Shalom" to a person you are saying "Hello," but it also means, "May it be well with you," or "Peace." It's a lot like saying to one another, "The Peace of Christ be with You."
So, Shalom to you.
Daylight Savings Time Ends in 2 weeks: We have been seeing earlier sunsets and darker mornings lately haven't we? Well, please mark your calendars, because Daylight Savings Time ends the night of November 3rd. That means on Communion Sunday you'll have watch the clock and set it back an hour.
This past Sunday our worship service talked a little about power, and the power of humility that creates a way to forgiveness. The sermon is attached.
Operation Christmas Child - 3 weeks remaining - You still have time to pack a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child! Click this link for information and ideas on how to pack your shoebox! https://youtu.be/iPLfxEs_p3w I'll try to do a little demonstration on Sunday too.
No yoga today - sorry! Your pastor apparently has done something to her back again.
Dutch Treat Dames: This Wednesday the Dutch Treat Dames meet at the Cornerstone for lunch. See you at noon. Yum!
Saturday Halloween Party: Please remember that on Saturday early evening we're having our Halloween Party! The decorations are already out (Thank you, Kenna and Marge!). Wear a costume and bring a fun treat to share with the group.
Please Take Note: Your pastor has been traveling a lot more lately. I am in town this week, but next week I will be visiting my parents for their 50th anniversary. I promise things will calm down some before the holidays!
Many prayers were lifted in church on Sunday, for families in grief, persons in need of healing. Let us remember we do not always know what pain someone could be hiding. Please pray others as well as ourselves.
Thank God for the rain we received recently! Amen.
I hope you go out there and make it a great day!
Blessings to you.
