Dear Friends in Christ:
Hope that you're well this beautiful Fall Day.
What a fun weekend it was, as there were special events going on around town, including the chance to host the Presbytery meeting of Sierra Blanca on Friday and Saturday. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the help you provided before and during the meeting. We also received many compliments on our hospitality and the beautiful decor in our church. I also was heartened to see our sister in Christ, Betty Ragan, who was here as our commissioner to Presbytery. She and I have traveled to many a presbytery meeting together but this is going to be her last one for us. We are looking for people who are interested in taking on her role.
I would like to encourage everyone to step out unafraid to try new things in our church. Maybe you're contemplating joining? Or maybe you're a member but are interested in serving in new roles, but afraid you don't know how? The good news is that God's Holy Spirit helps us do hard things. It's a little like learning how to dance. The only way to learn how to dance is to just start doing it. Then, keep on trying!
I am trying to find a good day to visit Anna Lee and Glenda - probably tomorrow. Glenda reported she is scheduled for her surgery today, and Anna Lee is already undergoing physical therapy at Vibra Hospital, which is on Wallace Avenue in Amarillo. Chances are, Glenda will be at the same hospital by tomorrow. I sent Anna Lee flowers from our church yesterday.

Friends, this is another busy week, but not so much as the past several. Remember to take time out to rest, when your spirit is telling you to do so. Hug and love those close to you. I hope to see you on Sunday, if not sooner, when we gather together in fellowship, drawn by the Holy Spirit. May God be with you all this week.
Much love,
Rev. Amy
