Grace, mercy and peace be with you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Things are moving right along with our new roof (see the below photo).  After just 5 days, we have a little less than half of the roof done, and boy is that a magnificent sight!
We can thank Brett, Rick and their workers - Adam, Joseph and Paul - for making so much progress so quickly.  Keep them in your prayers for safety, 'cuz that sure is high up!

As of today, Sunday, they have even more shingles up there!
In other news, the police are still investigating the break-ins, burglaries and vandalism of our churches and Tucumcari businesses.  It's not just churches but others in our area of town.  The police were able to recover just a couple of the things taken from our church.  But let's remember that things are not what make us a church.  They may have taken from us tools for the ministry of Christ, but they are just "things."  When the first century saw Christians die for their faith, it only gave the rest a stronger faith.

Today's sermon had something to do with this.  You're invited to download and read the sermon, called "Things."

Today's potluck was also fun.  Thanks, Kenna, for hosting a "Boo"-tiful spread with a Halloween twist.  We have a Halloween Party coming up on Saturday, October 28th, so make sure you get your costume ready!

Remember that our yoga class will be back in business this week, Tuesday at noon.  By then, the stolen speakers will be back in operation.

Next Wednesday, October 25th, the Dutch Treat Dames will be back having lunch at the Cornerstone's First Edition at noon.  Remember last week they had computer problems and we had to improvise lunch?  The weather was knocking everyone's computers out!

Tucumcari was host to a bunch of out of towners this weekend - all here to compete at the 1st "Shootout at Six-Shooter Siding" disc golf tournament.  They turned out in impressive numbers, considering it was a first time event.  Anna and Daniel Zamora were a part of hosting this really cool tournament and, given that this was their first time doing that, they did a great job.  How wonderful it was to see groups of people hiking in the hills around 5-Mile Park.  Some videos are forthcoming.

Now get out there and enjoy that sunshine on this beautiful fall day before it's gone!  May God bless you and keep you this week.
Love,
Rev. Amy
