Hopefully you are finding a little time to get outside and enjoy the beauty of God's creation lately (except when the wind is up!). Bright blue skies, ripening vegetable gardens, and cooler nights all spell autumn.
As you might expect, we are already preparing for the fall and winter season at First Presbyterian Church. Some of us are practicing Wednesday nights for the Christmas Cantata, our Deacons are having a planning meeting soon (just confirmed for Sunday October 23rd at 9:30 am), and my thoughts are turning towards working up a 2017 church calendar.
But let's not put the cart before the horse, and remember to also live in this moment before it passes by. "The present is a gift."
I am working on musicians and readers for our Christmas Eve Service, which is on a Saturday evening this year. If you enjoy playing/singing and/or reading, and want to be a part of the story telling that goes on during our "Lessons and Carols" service, please let me know as soon as possible, even if you aren't completely sure you will be there. This includes children in your family! What a wonderful time to bring your kids and grandkids to church.
Today don't forget that yoga is at noon! Exercise, Eat and Pray is at 9:00 M-W-F. Session meeting is at 5:30PM in the library. Folks are welcome to come and observe tonight's session meeting, either total or in party. It will probably last till at 7:00PM.
This Saturday, don't forget there is a lot going on:
- Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast between 6-9 AM at the Fairgrounds Exhibition Hall for $7/plate goes towards the Rotary Scholarship Fund.
- Community Health Talk on Medicare 2017 at our church at 10:00AM - for all who are curious about enrolling in Medicare for next year, bring your parents and grandparents!
- Support the Rattlers Volleyball team in the afternoon - Kayla's team hits the court about 3:30pm. It's $5 at the door. We go up against Texico in a district game.
If you come, you'll see me at all of these!
And then on Sunday, October 15, we have:
- Bible Study in the Library at 9:30AM
- Worship @ 11:00 (obviously)
- Potluck Sunday! Our hostess this month is Kenna! (AnnaLee Schuster is in November)
