My apologies for the lateness of this message, this week. It seems that when the Rummage Sale comes around, I have to set aside most everything else in order to put in the hours. (not the best use of your pastor, eh?)
A BIG THANK YOU to all who could help at the sale, before, during and after. Julie and Rick Sursa and I carted over two truckloads of clothes and other items to the Ministry of HOPE Tuesday, but there is still about another load left. Hope someone can take on the task sometime soon! But at least the quilters and the yogis are back in business...
The Brunch Bunch is gathering! FYI!! Presbyterians are meeting this Saturday at 9:30AM for the PW Brunch Bunch at Kix on 66. We will ask them to hold a table near the back, which will be quieter. Hope you interested men come too! This time we have to talk about the Rummage Sale - how to make it better...so people who want to help will know about it in advance. Brunch Bunch is at 9:30AM, and it's come as you are! Dutch Treat, or just come for a nice beverage.
Also, we celebrated and grieved for Tom Carden this Monday. Special thank you to Marie Sims and Barbara Cherry for helping us get organized for the meal, and to all who contributed. We were very blessed by the support and help of Pastor John Barrett and members of Center Street UMC for the music and the help with the meal! It was a tender-hearted service, with many tears.
So we have had many highs and lows. But like a loving parent, God holds us lovingly throughout it all.
O, those Millennials!: I am compiling a file for our library of articles that I have been collecting which may be of interest. Right now, they are mostly about the millennial generation, those young people who are currently in their 20s-30s. I will continue to add to it as I go. Please feel free to explore it. Click here to see an electronic file of those articles.
Please give your love to Marj McKenzie, who pinch hit for us on Sunday morning! Thanks for stepping up to the piano bench last minute :)
