I am attempting to do this with a large cat holding down my elbow! God has a funny way of telling us to slow down.
This is a great week for all of us to have a moment to slow down. It is typical of this time of year in work and school to give everything a big PUSH before the holidays overtake us. And have you noticed that when Thanksgiving rolls around, our sense of time and the shape of our days begins to change?
I enjoy that time. The holidays can be stressful, but can give us lots of little moments to glimpse God in a different way. C.S. Lewis called moments like that "patches of Godlight," comparing it to the occasional spots of light that shine down on a forest floor. I think God tends to break through to us like that sometimes.
We had a nice service yesterday, including 4 visitors! Marcia and Paxton Blea were back. We were delighted that Paxton (4) recognized DJ (5) from soccer and they played together during the entire potluck dinner. We also had Steve and Lisa Farmer, who are in the process of moving here from Fort Worth. They have an RV rental business that they wish to relocate here. They intend to return, but could not stay for supper afterwards this time.

Advent is just around the corner! As we head closer to the day of our Savior's birth, when God took flesh to dwell among us, ask yourself, "How can God dwell in me this season?"
Who knows? You might come up with a great new mission idea.
Have a blessed week filled with peace and goodwill towards all.
